"This is hands down the best flight school on Oahu/the best flight school I've flown with. After 16 years of renting airplanes all over the Country I have had many experiences with flight schools. This is a family run business and everyone in the family is professional and are genuinely kind and fun to be around.
I came across this place after having a falling out with another Oahu based flight school, this was due to never being able to fly because of maintenance. I gave the right flight school a phone call and drove down the street. I was requesting 20-30 hours of multi time in two weeks and they said they could do it. They came through on their word, there were a couple set backs due to weather and maintenance (as can be expected from usual flying) but they always were working their hardest to get me back flying again. The maintenance is performed by the owners son, Josh, he is very knowledgeable of all of their aircraft. They keep good logs and keep the aircraft well maintained.
I mostly flew with James, who is a very experienced CFI, he was professional and a good teacher. I also flew once with Grant, I have a decent amount of flight time and have been through multiple aircraft checkouts and flown with countless instructors. Usually I'm kind of thinking "how much experience does this CFI actually have?" Grant and James are both on a different level of the vast majority of flight instructors. They have lots of experience and know what they are doing.
The daughters and mom who also run the flight school are very knowledgeable and can usually rattle off any FAA question you have. This is one of the few remaining flight schools I have run across that actually still uses common sense and it was a pure pleasure to conduct business with them.
